For some reason, I’ve been cooking a lot of “hot” meals this summer…I guess I just can’t wait till the fall and winter when they make more sense! One favorite dish in our house is chili. This is a very straightforward recipe and so simple because you can just pile the ingredients in a crock pot and let it work it’s magic! I enjoy my chili dolled up with some cheese and a dollop of sour cream. Hubby enjoys his plain and scoops it up with Fritos. But it doesn’t matter HOW you eat it, it just matters that you DO eat it and savor every delicious bite! : )


1 pound ground beef
3 Tablespoons chili powder
1 Tablespoon onion powder
2 cans of tomato sauce
1 can of pinto or kidney beans
2 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons water

Cook the ground beef and drain grease. Put the beef in crock pot and add all the other ingredients. Cook for at least an hour and a half and add more water as needed.
